The album consists of 17 tracks, mostly based on a public recording session that took place at the Import Export. Says Stephanie Müller, “It was a collaboration full of energy, with no fear of dissonances and no need for perfection. I love that.” The cover art itself is a collaboration between Munich-based painter and cinematographer Klaus Erich Dietl and Sapporo-based media artist Mikio Saito.

Alligator Gozaimasu is also the inaugural release of Ragrec, a new record label based in Munich. Founded by Stephanie Müller, Ragrec champions the DIY punk ethos and encourages collaboration between both artists and materials, such as sound and visual.

Multimedia collaborators Stephanie and Laura, also known as the musical duo Beisspony, seen at this year’s South By Southwest, have been busy with other collaborative projects as well. They are currently working on a black and white film Promises & Other Failures, featuring the meeting of many languages: English, German, Turkish, Italian, and Japanese. All of the major roles are played by female actors. Fans can also look forward to a new Beisspony album later this year.
