The Portland, Maine-based collective known as Jaw Gems have been causing quite the stir this year with the release of their second album, HEATWEAVER, out now on STS9’s imprint, 1320 Records. In support of the new release, the band is hitting the road for their first US tour, and will accompany Papadosio on Friday, February 10 for a performance at The International in Knoxville, TN.

Recently, The Source Magazine described their music as “grand, chill wave jazz” which is achieved through masterful musicianship and real instrumentation. Bandcamp Daily named HEATWEAVER “Album of the Day,” comparing the group to J Dilla and Flying Lotus, further praising, “[the record] thrives on that same sort of loose electro-rap fusion, but the quartet’s blend feels light and improvised, skewed more towards jazz.”

Starting January 2017, Jaw Gems kick of their tour supporting Lettuce. Following the completion of these dates, the group will then head to the West Coast for their first performance in Los Angeles at Low End Theory on February 1, followed by an appearance at Gem & Jam Festival in Tuscon, AZ. Jaw Gems will then join Papadosio on the road through February and March 2017, with plans to continue their tour this summer, including performances at Summer Camp Music Festival and more TBA.
