WASHINGTON, D.C. (January 18, 2017) – Tim Rushlow will pay homage to his past and open the next chapter of his career during President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremonies this week. The Presidential Inaugural Committee just announced that ‘Tim Rushlow & His Big Band’ will perform during Liberty and Freedom: The Official Presidential Inaugural Balls. Rushlow will also perform as part ‘The Frontmen of Country’ alongside Lonestar’s Richie McDonald and Restless Heart’s Larry Stewart.

Rushlow, the former lead vocalist of Grammy®-nominated, multi-platinum selling group Little Texas, is embracing his jazz and swing roots with his new group Tim Rushlow & His Big Band. “I am humbled to be a part of history and perform the first dance for the President and First Lady – all while celebrating this new chapter in my career. Big band jazz music and the Great American Songbook are my passion and to take the stage at the inaugural ball is a real honor,” Rushlow said.

As previously announced, Rushlow will also be part of the The Frontmen of Country during the Make America Great Again! Welcome Celebration, which will take place following Voices of the People and will be broadcast live to the nation from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. It will feature historic remarks from President-elect Donald J. Trump and special appearances from Toby Keith, Jon Voight, The Piano Guys, Lee Greenwood, RaviDrums and 3 Doors Down.

Liberty and Freedom: The Official Presidential Inaugural Balls will take place at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center and, for the first time ever, the Presidential Inaugural Committee will provide all television networks the right to freely air the live two-hour show simultaneously in both balls, allowing Americans throughout the country to watch the President’s remarks and first dance with the First Lady.

ABOUT TIM RUSHLOW: A versatile entertainer who sold millions of records during his time as lead singer of country music super group Little Texas, Tim Rushlow is a master song interpreter with a deep, abiding love for the classics. During the band’s impressive run in the ’90’s, he and the rest of the Little Texas members charted over a dozen hits including “God Blessed Texas,” “What Might Have Been,” and the number one smash “My Love.” Following the band’s breakup, Tim embarked upon a solo career with Atlantic Records and released a self-titled CD that yielded the heartwarming Top Ten hit “She Misses Him,” about a couple’s touching battle with Alzheimer’s. Following a few more endeavors in musical groups and pairings, in 2009 Tim decided to refocus his energies on honing his performing skills as a solo act, launching a well-received acoustic tour at smaller listening rooms around the country. The challenge of engaging audiences and laying his emotions bare on the stage in front of intimate crowds night after night fired up Tim’s creativity to a new level and renewed his love for the classic sounds he grew up listening to and first cut his musical teeth on like Bobby Darin, Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, Dean Martin, and Andy Williams. And the experience soon inspired him to take his career in a whole new direction as the modern-day crooner he had always envisioned himself to be.
