SOUTH CAROLINA | FEBRUARY 20, 2017: Shortly after the debut of their most recent music video, "NIGHTSWIMMING," South Carolina-based electro-pop/rock group Glass Mansions are thrilled to partner with WAVOfor an exclusive "NIGHTSWIMMING" Remix Competition! The competition will run for 5 weeks from today, February 20th, through March 27th, 2017. The First Place Winner will receive $300 in cash, one pair of Beats by Dre Solo2 headphones, a $25 Gift Card to Sims Music, social sharing across Glass Mansions social media profiles, and an official release of the remix on Spotify. Two (2) Runner Ups may be selected and compensated $50 each, including social sharing across Glass Mansions social profiles, and a potential release of winning remix on Spotify. Rules and submissions are at WAVO here. This is what Glass Mansions' Blake Arambula had to say about the contest: "As the band is moving in a more electronic direction, this remix competition only seemed natural. We've never really gotten to collaborate with other artists on our music, and this contest feels like a perfect way to extend that invitation. We're excited at the prospect of hearing other people's take on our song and offering us ideas that we could never imagine."
Glass Mansions, led by the charismatic, sultry voice of Jayna Doyle, is an Electro-Pop/Rock band from South Carolina, influenced by modern and 90s pop, heavy synths and tight, dance-friendly rhythms. Their music is propulsive and elastic, with bubbly pop-melodies, lush electronic beds of sound and intelligent, intimate lyrics, creating a memorable sound that vibes like Shirley Manson going steady with The Neighbourhood. The trio of vocalist Jayna Doyle, keyboardist Blake Arambula, and guitarist Patrick Beardsley have been steadily winning over audiences across the country since day one. With 10+ tours under their belt, multiple appearances at festivals like SXSW, Warped Tour and Florida Music Festival, as well as a recently recorded Daytrotter session, the band recently teamed up with idobi Radioto debut "NIGHTSWIMMING," the next single from their highly anticipated sophomore EP. With the nostalgic "NIGHTSWIMMING," Glass Mansions returned to the studio with Zack Odom and Kenneth Mount (Mayday Parade, All Time Low, Cartel) who helmed the band's first release, GOSSIP, and have combined the band's signature pop flourishes with contemplative vocals, washes of synths and echoes of guitar -- all while harnessing the energy the band's live shows have come to be known for. Of "NIGHTSWIMMING" The Daily Listening says "The band are even better than imagined and new single, "NIGHTSWIMMING," is dance-friendly electro-rock at it's best as the mystery of the unknown & the craving for adventure runs wild."
That craving for adventure is part of the DIY-spirit the band embraces, serving as their own management, booking agents, music video directors, and the most excited merch people you'll see. In a world where record labels are taking less and less chances on acts, Glass Mansions is proving their worth, one sweaty fog and confetti-filled show at a time.
