New York, NY (Febaruay 6, 2016) –  After close to 47 years of music, Lee Fields, backed by The Expressions and their incomparable soul-sound musicianship, recently released Special Night on Big Crown Records. Throughout his career, Lee's mission has always been about LOVE, and so is his recent album. With tracks like “Lover Man”, “Never Be Another You”, Precious Love” and I’m Coming Home”, the message is singular, but none more so than the title track and ode to his lady, “Special Night”. Just in time for Valentine’s Day next week, Lee Fields & The Expressions present the video for “Special Night”.

Lee and the band are returning from a sold out European tour today and head back out for a two month stint next week,  ending at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. A full list of tour dates can be found below.

Possessing a voice that’s equally raucous and tender, Fields crafts a truly honest, soulful work in Special Night and it hasn’t gone unnoticed, with praise from NPR Music, The New Yorker, Newsweek, Paste and countless others. Billboard says, “Lee Fields & The Expressions continue to evolve while still remaining true to their 60s roots” and Noisey commends, "While others of his era burned out or faded away, Fields is still here, his voice now more passionate and ecstatic than ever."

It’s hard to find another active singer today that has the background Lee Fields does: a first release in 1969, records on thirteen different labels, and close to 47 years of music making, touring, and recording. With such a seasoned past, it’s amazing that the musician and artist, Lee Fields, a North Carolina native, is as busy and focused as ever. Backed by The Expressions and their incomparable soul-sound musicianship, Lee Fields’ Special Night holds court with any soul music that came before it while evolving and pushing the limits of the genre into the current musical landscape.
