Formed in Louisville, KY, Jaye Jayle possesses a distinct Southern filter, though its stripped-back noir owes more to Krautrock than the blues and arrives at a sound wholly unusual in the American underground. The Time Between Us follows Jaye Jayle’s debut House Cricks and Other Excuses to Get Out (October 2016) and continues to be an exercise in tension and restraint, a tightrope act between singer-songwriter traditions and art rock experimentation, and an intersection of Southern cultural permutations and otherworldly sounds.

Sargent House alum Emma Ruth Rundle (Red Sparowes, Marriages) contributes a follow-up dose of brooding, melancholic rock draped in shimmering guitar and the breathy familiarity of her unmistakable voice to The Time Between Us.  In addition to two new tracks (“The Distance”, which has premiered here, and “To Fold In England [Hours]”), Rundle closes her side of the split with the original acoustic version of “Hand of God”, a standout track from her most recent full-length, 2016’s Marked for Death.

Both Emma Ruth Rundle and Jaye Jayle will tour extensively throughout 2017 in support of The Time Between Us; Rundle is set to support Deafheaven and This Will Destroy You in February and March, while Jaye Jayle will be out with Oathbreaker in March and April.  Additionally, Jaye Jayle was recently confirmed for Forecastle Fest in Louisville this July (date TBD).  Together, Emma Ruth Rundle and Jaye Jayle will head out on a European tour in April and May slotted around Roadburn Festival in The Netherlands.  Check out tour dates for both artists listed below.
