Title track "Free" features a melodic opening refrain and some soulful Goren vocals, augmented by Ray's ever-present guitar. "I just wanna be free now," Goren sings, in a sound reminiscent of seventies' greats Bad Company. "Don't Know Better" is both funky and soulful, Goren singing, "I ain't tryin' to play, I just want your lovin' every day" while displaying more of the guitar prowess the Southern California-based teen is renowned for. "Emergency " is more soulful seduction, Goren singing, "it's an emergency, every time you move you seem to capture me", with a catchy electric piano and a sweet guitar solo. "Back To Me" features a pretty, flowing, soulful sound with Goren's high-octave vocal giving the tune an Old-School nineties' feel, "you'll come around...back to me." The disc ends "Love Gone Wrong," a sweet-sounding duet between Goren and L.A. vocalist Hewan, calling to mind comparisons with classic soul hit "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" by Marvin Gaye and Tami Terrell.
