According to a recent press release: "New Jersey metal band Lorna Shore has been making waves since the release of their highly-praised, pulverizing sophomore album, Flesh Coffin, which dropped on February 17th with Outerloop Records. Coming off the release, the band recently announced a national headlining tour, The Beg for Death Tour, presented by All In Merch." We get guitarist Adam De Micco from the band to answer our 10 Quick Ones about the bands most recent new material and more...

1. Tell us a little about your latest release.  What might a fan or listener not grab the first or second time they listen through?  Are there any hidden nuggets the band put in the material or that only diehard fans might find?

We wanted to make the release something anyone could grab the moment they listen to it. I hate listening to bands that I have to force myself to listen to an album over and over to finally get it. I want to get it at the start. What I would say is that there is a lot more depth on this record then our previous releases so when you do keep coming back you may notice a sound or melody or something you didn't hear before, which to me is always interesting to notice those things.

2. What got you into music, and can you tell us about the moment you realized you wanted to be a musician?

I got into music because I enjoyed it.  I loved listening to bands, going to shows, and everything else in between so being on the other end of that felt natural.  I think I knew I wanted to do it when I was in high school and was watching an Underoath dvd watching a band tour and everything else a touring band do made me really want to be in their shoes also during that time everyone in school was worried about college and what major they were declaring and that to me seemed quite uncomfortable.

3. Who would be your main five musical influences?

That is always changing and evolving it never stays the same, but I will say for this album my biggest influences were The Black Dahlia Murder, The Faceless, Necrophagist, Fallujah, and Behemoth.

4. If you could call in any one collaborator to do a song with, who would it be?

Justin Timberlake, just because he is a huge inspiration to why I became a musician and I think that song would turn out awesome.

5. How would you describe your music to someone who’d never listened to you before?

Loud, Aggressive, in your face.

6. What’s the best thing about being a musician?

Being able to have a blank canvas and create whatever it is you wish to create. After that people you don't even know react or respond to that creation. To be able to travel the world simply because you have created something. It's a real crazy thought that something we sat without knowing got us to where we are based off what we created by ourselves. On top of being able to play guitar while doing it. I hope that was ambiguous enough.

7. When the band are all hanging out together, who cooks; who gets the drinks in; and who is first to crack out the acoustic guitars for a singalong?

No one cooks, it is usually take out or we go somewhere to get food. Thankfully no acoustic guitar since no one wants to hear any of us sing, and if that does happen please run it will be terrible. As far as drinks if you change that to pot, its Tom and Austin.

8. If you weren’t a musician, what would be your dream job?

Hard to tell maybe an athlete if I was good enough. I wouldn't want a regular 9-5 job or something that is very routine. I mean everything does become routine at some point, but I wouldn't want a traditional monday through friday job. I would want to do something out of the ordinary.

9. Looking back over your career, is there a single moment or situation you feel was a misstep or you would like to have a “do over”?

I mean I think there will always be that missstep or do over, but I think if that didn't happen we wouldn't be where we are out.  I feel those mistakes we made make us who we are today and I think are better because of it.  If we had to I would say our re-release of our EP and our first full length.  We would be more careful in finding a label, and be more prepared with our full length.  Just learned a alot over those 2 years.

10. If you could magically go back in time and be a part of the recording sessions for any one record in history, which would you choose – and what does that record mean to you?

I would want to be a part of Michael Jacksons Thriller. It's one of the best selling records, to this day the record quality wise still holds up, the songs written on that record are fantastic, and if I think back long enough Michael Jackson was the first musical performer I saw. So I think it would just be insane to be a part of that album.
