NEWS: BUILT TO SPILL SEPT. + OCT. TOUR DATES IN SUPPORT OF NEW ALBUM 'UNTETHERED MOON'
June 22, 2015 - (Burbank, CA.) - Beloved Indie rock hero's Built to Spill have confirmed tour dates for September and October 2015. Tickets are on sale now.
Built to Spill have been touring in support of the new studio album, Untethered Moon, released this past April 21st, by Warner Bros. Records. Yet again, Doug Martsch & company have created a melodically rich song cycle that weaves memorable guitar textures with thoughtfully crafted lyrical passages open to the listener's own interpretation. The press continues to embrace each new album with open arms and ears:
"Built to Spill are the AC/DC of indie rock. The album consistently is a testament to Martsch's perfectionism - and for that, we salute him" - Rolling Stone
"Untethered Moon is a record flush with blustery guitar passages, hooks and heart...chugging ramblers with psych moves and serpentine melodies around every cornor...towering shards of incendiary guitar." - Associated Press
"Assured songwriting and richly rendered freakouts" - Alternative Press
Untethered Moon is produced by Martsch and Sam Coomes (from the band Quasi) and recorded entirely with Martsch playing all guitars along with new band members, Steve Gere (drums) and Jason Albertini (bass). As always BTS will continue to tour as the three-guitar army they have always been with Jim Roth and Brent Netson. Netson also has released his most recent album,Scavenger Cult, credited to Bret Netson & Snakes. For further info, check out Brett Netson'sBandcamp site and Snakes' Facebook page.
If you've yet to see the latest BTS video for the album tracks, here's your chance to view the videos for "Living Zoo" and "Never be the Same" tracks of off BTS's album Untethered Moon. Both videos were directed by Jordan Minkoff of the band Slam Dunk, who has toured with BTS in the past. Both films are thematically linked so best to view in order, back to back.
