(October 28, 2016 – Los Angeles, CA) -After achieving massive success producing and writing chart-topping hits across all genres, Ricky Reed is returning to his roots as an artist, releasing an autobiographical solo song three years in the making. “Express Myself” is out now via Epic Records – PRESS HERE to listen/embed. While Ricky has been helping other artists tell their stories lately, he is ready to start telling his own starting with his most personal song to date and his first since 2013.

“With the current climate of the country, it got me thinking about the importance of honesty, of storytelling, of living truthfully and not allowing outside pressures to derail your dreams or affect your beliefs. While the song is the story of what I was feeling when I took the leap to become an artist, I think it also speaks to the importance of following and expressing your purpose or passion. Let it live and manifest in the world, whatever it may be,” says Ricky.

As Ricky’s musical path took him in different directions and to new heights over the years with everything from Wallpaper to producing major artists, he never forgot the hope, yearning and unease detailed in “Express Myself” that he experienced when he set out to be an artist in 2013. Now that he has come full circle from artist to producer to artist again, his new song showcases a more intimate side to his songwriting and is a fitting nod to the start of an exciting new chapter – back to where it all began. PRESS HERE to hear Instagram audio clips of personal insights from Ricky in his own words about the life events that precipitated his journey as an artist.
