One year removed from the release of their Hard As Nails EP, which Complex applauded as a “ravey maelstrom,” British duo WiDE AWAKE has emerged as an artist to watch. 2016 saw them release a diverse assortment of music, including flexing their hip-hop muscles by producing Bonkaz’ hit single “And Dat (feat. Stormzy).” They followed with the soulful offering “Love Me (feat. Jacob Banks),” solidifying WiDE AWAKE as budding electronic stars with the track accumulating over 2 million plays on Spotify. The tune also earned radio play from BBC Radio 1Xtra's MistaJam and former BBC broadcaster Crissy Criss, who then collaborated with WiDE AWAKE on the Drum & Bass heater “Light You Up.” WiDE AWAKE’s crisp sound has caught the attention of numerous heavy-hitting artists, including Skrillex, Flux Pavilion, Vice, DJ Fresh, and Arty.

As mysterious as he is promising, UNKWN burst onto the scene this August boasting a massive trap sound. Since remixing WiDE AWAKE’S track “Ready,” the anonymous producer has been on a roll, dropping 4 standout remixes on Soundcloud. Among those reworks is his flip of fellow New Noise artist Fabian Mazur’s “Fiyah” (feat. Brukout),” which was supported by Afrojack on his renowned JACKED Radio show. Look out for WiDE AWAKE and UNKWN as they continue to make strides in the bass music game with “Crown,” out now via New Noise.

New Noise is Dim Mak’s new music discovery imprint that focuses on cutting edge sounds from burgeoning artists across the genre spectrum. Launched in 2010, New Noise got its start as a compilation series highlighting fresh faces handpicked by Steve Aoki and crew. By 2015, the platform evolved into a bi-weekly, free-download model based on singles. New Noise’s current incarnation is a copyright free model that allows the budding community of Twitch gamers and amateur YouTube content creators to use New Noise music in their videos and live streams sans purchase or fees, all in exchange for linking back to the artists and their music.
