Gritty Texas trio, PURPLE have announced a new video for "Bliss," the first single from their sophomore album Bodacious, which will detonate April 1, 2016 via Play It Again Sam / [PIAS]. The track, which gained significant traction since Consequence of Sound called it, "a number whose dreamy, tamed beginnings eventually give way to highlight the trio’s boisterous spirit," is free-for-posting.

Additionally “Bliss” selected as part of the Austin 100 (LINK), NPR’s prestigiously-screened mix tape, whittled down from thousands of artists from around the world headed to SXSW into an even hundred discoveries and highlights across genres. The band will play 11 shows during the 5-day event, including an invite only run through of their new album Bodacious , which will stream globally online. Purple’s dates can be found in full below.

The video, which is directed by David Morrison and produced by Rick Parker can be found here:https://youtu.be/BVjT_mGcB8s

The new LP, Bodacious, proudly retains the venomous, strident tone established on their debut release, (409), and takes a dive into high-adrenaline fueled pop rock. It kicks off like a gun-shot with the volatile "Backbone," leaping between the abrasive shouts of the refrain, and the funky, fluid pop melody of the verse. Midway through, "Pretty Mouth" slides the record into an funky reggae-influenced resonance. As Bodacious nears its end, Purple bust out their fuzz-rock chops on"Geniva" to deliver a grimy catchy melody over fat, distorted guitars, setting the album up for its high-octane finish.

The ambitious trio have rode their unapologetic, grit-spitting party-rock style to win the praise from NPR, Entertainment Weekly, Flavorwire, Bitch and Boxx Magazine. A ruthless mix of femme-punk, indie rock and grunge, Purple flash glimpses of Bikini Kill, No Doubt, Andrew W.K. and Yeah Yeah Yeahs in their ferocious sound as the vow to leave no stage undestroyed during their frenzied trek towards world domination.

Purple are Hanna Brewer (vocals, percussion), Taylor Busby (vocals, guitars) and Joe Cannariato (bass).
