Sony Music has worked closely with Spotify since the early days of the Kygo campaign. After being picked as a Spotlight artist in 2014, Kygo soon became the fastest ever artist to reach the one billion-stream mark on Spotify, achieving the milestone in just 12 months.

Created with renowned advertising agency, McCann, the advertisement proves that Cloud Nine via  Spotify can be the soundtrack to just about any moment of the day – whether you’re waking up, working away at your desk or at the latest party with your friends.

Off the back of his Cloud Nine release, Kygo is currently the 13th most-streamed artist on Spotify, and has 19.5 million monthly listeners on the service.

“I’ve always believed that my music has the ability to fit any occasion and I think the advertisement we created perfectly sums that up”, said Kygo. “I’d like to thank everyone at Spotify, McCann and Sony who was involved in the project and most of all, my fans who helped me get into this position by streaming all of my music in the first place. My debut album Cloud Nine is out now and available to stream on Spotify. I hope everyone can check it out!”

“Kygo's team have shown the huge levels of success possible by placing Spotify at the heart of an artist marketing campaign. This is the latest in a long line of fruitful Spotify artist partnerships, and we look forward to helping both Kygo and many other artists find their audiences and connect with their fans,” said Kevin Brown, Spotify’s European Head of Label Relations.

Additionally, Kygo performed one of the biggest hits from his album, “Stay (feat. Maty Noyes)”, live on Good Morning America on Tuesday, May 17, 2016. Watch it below.

Kygo’s Cloud Nine is out now via Ultra Records/RCA Records. A stunning LP produced and written by Kyrre himself, Cloud Nine features some of the most talented artists in the music industry across an incredible array of genres, with the likes of John Legend, Kodaline, Foxes, Tom Odell, Labrinth and Angus & Julia Stone all contributing to original songs for the album.

Kygo has gone onto break record after record since he was tipped as Billboard’s next superstar back in late 2014. Just a few of his recent feats, in addition to producing a full-length album and becoming the fastest artist to reach one billion Spotify plays, include planning his very own festival in his hometown of Bergen, becoming the first ever electronic musician to perform at the Nobel Peace Prize concert, selling eight million singles worldwide, and adorning the front cover of Billboard Magazine in February 2016.
