(August 30, 2016) – Fresh off a broadcast exclusive sneak peek during the MTV Video Music Awards of her “Sit Still, Look Pretty” music video during her VMA-themed Geico commercial, breakout pop musician DAYA has announced her debut full-length album SIT STILL, LOOK PRETTY, set for release October 7 on Artbeatz. A preview of the record is now available here. The album will be available for pre-order on September 16.

SIT STILL, LOOK PRETTY caps off a banner breakout year for the 17-year-old Pittsburgh native, who recorded the album in Los Angeles. Executive Produced by Gino "Farrago" Barletta, Daya has cited the album as a continuation of her hit debut EP Daya, released in September 2015; the record will include the entire EP along with eight new tracks.

“I have been working tirelessly on this record for almost a year now. It’s the most authentic representation of me as an artist so far, and each song carries a piece of me,” says Daya. “I’m so grateful for all the support I’ve received over the past year and it still feels surreal to be releasing my first album. I am so stoked for the world to finally hear it!!”

The album’s RIAA gold-certified title track and current single, “Sit Still, Look Pretty,” rocketed into the top 10 on iTunes overall songs chart last week, where it currently still sits. The track also blasted into the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100, jumping 20 spots to its current #36 slot. This marks Daya’s third consecutive song – and all her singles to date – to enter the Top 40, succeeding her debut breakout song “Hide Away” and her double-platinum hit with The Chainsmokers, “Don’t Let Me Down.” The song’s music video will make its broadcast prime time premiere September 9 on MTV.

“Sit Still, Look Pretty” was hailed one of the “songs of summer” by Entertainment Weekly and has amassed more than 80+ million streams on Spotify. The song made its broadcast television debut earlier this summer on TODAY and was first played on Sirius XM Hits 1, who were also the first to play “Hide Away” in 2015.

In addition to being nominated for her first ever MTV VMA for Best Electronic Video, Daya partnered with the network for various programming ahead of their famed awards show. She served as a co-host of MTV’s 4th annual VMA Brunch alongside All Time Low, Laura Marano & Parris Goebel, discussing their favorite VMA moments ahead of the ceremony on Sunday. Additionally, she was featured in three VMA-themed GEICO commercials, one of which aired during the VMA broadcast and included a sneak peek of her forthcoming “Sit Still, Look Pretty” music video. All three commercials can be seen here: Solo Dance Party, Car Sing-Along & Treadmill Workout.

Daya is currently on the road, having spent nearly every day this year touring. On Sunday, she concluded her first ever Canadian tour which took her through seven cities. She is slated to embark on her first ever headline tour in early 2017. For more information, visit www.theofficialdaya.com.
